Taking a sick day

Not a good day yesterday. I woke up feeling decidedly poorly - stiff, sore, and breakfast did not sit well at all.  Still I made an effort to get to work at my desk, thinking it was nothing too strenuous and would pass.
Not only did it not go away, but it got worse as the day wore on. I developed a throbbing headache which refused to go away even with painkillers. So I was forced to cancel all meetings and workout plans in the afternoon in favour of sleeping in a darkened room. Woke up feeling a bit better, though still headachy, and very hungry, so I proceeded to eat every bit of junk food I could lay my hands on.  My husband was the sensible one who suggested drinking more water with an electrolyte tablet. Having a proper meal also seemed to help, but I was feeling poorly again soon after, and I was in bed by 9pm.

Bit of a wash on all counts really, and it looks like my body has decided I need a second rest week. I am feeling better today, but still not 100% so I will not be going to the gym as planned. Let’s hope I can at least keep the calories down today!
